What does your swim team budget say about your
team?
Think about your
team’s budget. It will tell you a lot about the priorities
the team has selected. The budget also sends a message about the
planning or lack of planning for the future. Important
considerations include how money is raised, how it is allocated and
saving for program enrichment.
First of all, the budget must be consistent with your
team’s vision, mission, philosophy and goals. What is
important to your team? How are you spending your money? For
example, if your team mission statement
mentions “supporting athletes to the highest
levels”, there might be a line item showing that
the club pays at least part of the expenses for
athletes who compete at the USA Swimming Sectional or
National meets.

their better athletes to nationals and juniors, is that correct?
And if they do, WHY do they? What does the Club get out of
it?“
"Good questions, simply
and directly asked. Hereafter, my equally simple and direct
answer."
